Community Living Atikokan is a community based organization dedicated to promoting the acceptance and value of all persons.
A huge loss of a true legend who has influenced so many individuals and groups it is impossible to find the words to describe his impact. Our condolences to all family, friends and colleagues.We are so deeply saddened to share the news that our co-Founder, John McKnight, has passed away. John's contributions are tremendous within this community and beyond. We extend our condolences to his family and friends across the globe and will post more information as we continue to honor his legacy.
Did you know? Over 50,000 adults with developmental disabilities are on the waitlist for services in Ontario, while less than 35,000 people are currently receiving the support they need.
Most of the 50,000 people on the waitlist will require lifelong support services. Without urgent action from the Ontario government, this waitlist will continue to grow, leaving many without the crucial services they desperately need.

A big congratulations to Brandon Bain on being elected to the Council of Community Living Ontario. The Council consists of 12 self-advocates from across the province who work together with Community Living Ontario’s Board of Directors to find solutions and share information, opinions, knowledge, and experience on important issues such as poverty, safe and affordable housing, human rights, and barriers to quality health care.
