Robert Wilson
Robert G. Wilson, CIM, (Certified
Industrial Manager), CHE (Certified Health Executive) is the Chief
Executive Officer at the Atikokan General Hospital in Northwestern
Ontario. Mr. Wilson has received certificates in Management,
Administration and Health Care Administration from the Canadian
Institute of Management and the Canadian Hospital Association. He has
been a Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health
Service Executives since 1986. With over 30 years in his health care
career, Robert has held a number of leadership positions in Acute Care,
Long-Term Care, Public Health, Seniors Health and Mental Health. Before
relocating to Atikokan, Ontario, he was with the Alberta Mental Health
Board and was responsible for two psychiatric rehabilitation facilities
in Southern Alberta.
Robert has been on the Community Living Atikokan Board of
Directors since 2005 and is Chair of the Policy Committee. He enjoys
his work with the Board and is an advocate for the Community Living Atikokan goal: “That
all persons live in a state of dignity, share in all the elements of
living in the community and have the opportunity to participate
effectively”
Candice Lee
Candice
Lee is an Educational Assistant at the St. Patrick’s Catholic School.
She has been a member of the Community Living Atikokan Board of
Directors for the past four
years and is charge of fund raising. Atikokan TV Bingo is Community
Living Atikokan's major fund raising initiative. Candice is responsible
for the organization and
recruitment of volunteers that assist with the bingos.
Candice is
a member of St. Patrick’s Parish Council, ant the Catholic Women
League. In the past years she has been active in several youth
organizations in the community including Atikokan Special Olympics,
Atikokan Figure Skating Club and the Nakokita Swim Club.
Kenneth G. (Ken) StainthorpeKen retired in 1994 after
a 34-year career as a police officer having served with four Municipal
Police services; 17 years as Chief of Police. Ken is a graduate with
Honors of the Executive Development Program at the Canadian Police
College in Ottawa. Ken has been recognized for his contribution to
policing by being awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Medal; the Governor
General’s Exemplary Service Medal and Bar; Life Memberships in the
Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police and Ontario Association of
Chiefs of Police.
Ken served Pastor of First Baptist Church
for 8 ¾ years prior to retiring in mid-2009. Ken served as a Zone
Director on the Executive of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of
Police; Board member of the Family Life Center, Elliot Lake, ON; St.
Joseph’s General Hospital, Elliot Lake, ON (2-year term as Board
Chair); Catholic Hospitals Association of Ontario; Huron Lodge
Community Service Board Inc., Elliot Lake, ON; and Atikokan General
Hospital Board of Directors (1-year as Vice-Chair); and Family and
Children's Services of the District of Rainy River Board of Directors
(1 term as Vice-President.
Ken and Jean have three sons and nine grandchildren.
Debi Rasinaho
Debi
was born and raised in Atikokan. After high school Debi resided in
B.C., the Yukon and Guelph, Ontario returning after six years. She has
worked for the Ontario Power Generation for the past 25 years, working
in security, Human Resources and Purchasing. Debi received HR
Management courses from Canadore College, Sociology courses from
Lakehead University as well as numerous courses in Security and other
training through OPG, Harvard University Negotiation and Mediation
Level 1 and Interior Decorating through correspondence.
Debi has
always taken an interest in her community and demonstrated the
perseverance, flexibility and energy by committing to various community
projects such as the Entertainment Series, the Atikokan General
Hospital, Past Vice President of Norvesthers Women’s Financial Group,
Choir Director and Organist for St. Patrick’s Church, a volunteer
Ambulance Attendant, volunteering for the Probation and Parole and as
Crisis Worker.
Debi’s desire to help and give back to the
community and being an active participant in improving the community
make her an effective volunteer. Working as a volunteer and with
volunteers, her willingness to listen and to share her experiences are
skills she has brought to the Community Living Atikokan board of directors over the past
five years. Debi is currently serving as the Board President.
Debi
is married with one grown daughter, who is a graduate nurse working at
the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital. Debi and her husband, Paul recently
built their “retirement home” on Factor Lake, where they are looking
forward to spending more time enjoying the lake, hopefully in the near
future.
Dennis Brown
Dennis
and his wife Doris have lived in Atikokan for the past forty-three
years where he worked in education as an elementary school teacher and
school principal. Now retired, he has been fortunate enough to have
served as Mayor of Atikokan for the past twelve years as well as
serving on numerous Boards and Committees on both the local and
provincial level.
Dennis has been a member of the Board of
Directors of the Community Living Atikokan since 1992. He also served as the Regional Coordinator for the
Community Living organization west of Thunder Bay for six years during
the Nineties.
Dennis wishes to make a difference in Atikokan so
that quality of life is enhanced and everyone is included. He thanks
the residents of Atikokan for allowing him to do so.
